Dancing with Bean Pots
I am going to attempt to sneak a few words to you this morning, despite the onslaught of chihuahua bodies hanging off me. They know something is up now that the walls are empty and the house echoes. They are giving me that pathetic look, RUN FOR YOUR CANINE LIVES, SHE’S MURDERING POUND PUPPIES BY STUFFING THEM INTO BOXES! Everyday, she murders the pound puppies in a new way. Neurotic canine. Nothing entertains me more.
With the exception of a few metal barn stars, the sheets on our bed and a few kitchen items we are still using, the house is packed. We ROCKED the packing. Well okay, Dona and Macy packed circles around me. They might have even been throwing in cartwheels just because they could, but my puny self kicked butt, too. My body is paying the price, but the muscle pain is almost like a medal of honor. I am wearing it proudly. Maybe even flaunt it a bit.
Look at me,
I pick up the bean pot.
I dust the bean pot.
I dance with the bean pot.
I sing to the bean pot.
I wrap the bean pot.
I pack the bean pot.
I stack the box full of bean pots.
*faints to the floor*Seriously, it feels so good to have some sort of strength again.
Meteorology Man has been doing the heavy work for me.
I point and grunt.
He says yes ma’am.I say move it now, Hunky Boy!
He says I was created for your service, oh soft-spoken one.I say where’s my oatmeal raisin cookie, punish severely the one who took my oatmeal raisin cookie!
He says you finished off your cookie yesterday, my sweet dainty one.We work well together.
He lifts heavy things.
I stretch his tolerance level.
There’s not a judge in the state that would convict him.I told you, Meteorology Man wanted to hold a yard sale last weekend, despite the fact that I just wanted to set it out by the road and bless the peoples. He held another one this weekend. He sucked a total of over $1500 out of our neighbors. Heathen tax collector. He also soaked up a nice tan. Anyway, that more than covers the three kennel runs. Well done, Hunky.
I made signs for all of the items that will be staying with the house. I have learned from previous experience, it is not enough to have a list and/or to tell the movers what not to put on the moving truck. They end up on the moving truck anyway.
I should be sure to put one on Meteorology Man.
Though I am sure, he would rather spend the next three weeks locked in a storage facility, than stuck in a hotel room with his sweet dainty one.

Excellent. I’m glad packing has gone so smoothly. Mine didn’t, but I made it here. My painter and my kids were stuck with emptying the house of all the junk left behind.
Glad to hear things are going well!
Glad to hear it’s going smoothly.
hope you find your home soon.
I would miss my dogs so much that that would motivate me to find a place.
One thing is that you will feel anything is BIG after a motel.
@Roadkill_Spatula - Considering we are only dealing with a little more than two years accumulation, not much build up of junk. We have a guy in town who runs a thrift ministry, he will be taking the rest with him. I still have a week before the movers arrive and not much anything left to do. I will head out to the barn and disassemble the shelving units and get those prepared to move, pack the connectors and tape the shelves. Sweep and that is it!
@Thatslifekid - Thank you! If not for my daughter and my friend, I would be standing in the middle of mess panicking at the moment. ha!
@chronic_masticator - Thanks! Watching you pin all of your gardening ideas is totally getting me excited for our new place. I have to learn how to flower garden with shade!
@Texasjillcarmel - We did find a place! A Mexican farmhouse on ten acres in the woods close to the city. I would show you pics, but the realtor already took down the listing. We close on March 8th. I am bummed my babies have to be in the kennel, but we will be staying not too far from them at the Hampton Inn so I will at least be able to visit them.
@WildWomanOfTheWest – I’m hoping to have my raised beds built by next weekend and my seeds started by march.
Well I too am glad to hear everything is going well. We shall be moving again at the end of the summer, I’ve just started researching places in our area. I can’t wait to see the pictures you will take of the new place
I’m so glad you’re feeling better these days — moves like that usually do me in! Ready a week ahead? In all my moves, I’ve been packing right down to the last day (but I had to do it by myself) !
Sounds like the move the move is going well, and cool that ya mad some money off your old stuff. Luck and love to you!!!
you sound wonderful. sweet dainty one.
I have never liked movijng and always got rid of as much stuff as possible before doing so because I HATE packing! Glad to hear you have it all done.
Sounds you look enjoy this time and the chihuahua!
@WildWomanOfTheWest - in Texas? or Ok.?
Glad to hear that the move is going well! Now…….would you like to send that Hunky Man to Florida for a few weeks…..I’ve got quite the honey list going!!
Seriously…….glad that you are feeling okay and the move is going well. Hang in there, girlie!
I’m curious..what kind of beans do you cook? Thank God you have your friends and a hunky husband to help you make all of this happen! What a show for your chihuahuas to watch! And oh, how exciting that your man had a successful yard sale!
Blessings to you and family on your new journey.
That man is awesome to get that much moolah in his garage sale! I think he was absolutely right to hold the sale.. I’m so happy you have everything ready to go. The anticipation is probably making the pups extra neurotic! hehe! Hope you and the bean pots can have a lovely reunion in the new house.
The best on your move….sounds like a good beginning!
Sounds like you “Gotter Done!” I should take lessons on garage sales, but my husband is a hoarder, and between the two of us, since he retired this year, have cleaned out the garage, partially cleaned out his work shop, and cleaned up the mess he made with ammunition for his guns on MY desk. I had to get nasty about the whole thing, telling him I would not live like his father did. His mother was a hoarder, and his father suffered in silence. Nooooo. Not me. And all the old school supplies? Gone. Can’t do a garage sale in snow.
@chronic_masticator - Take pics for me!

@i_am_not_short - I hope I remember to take before pics. Hopefully, I can beat the movers to the place. What’s the reason for your move?
@slmret - I would be panicking right now if not for Dona and Macy. So thankful for them, they worked so hard!
@lonelywanderer2 - @bonnieupnorth - Thank you!
@promisesunshine - ha!
@martna1 - Thankfully, I had three sons that had set up places of their own awhile back, so they got first dibs to the furniture and kitchen ware in the guest house. That helped to remove a lot of the extra. The rest we are donating to a local thrift mission.
@SherryAngeLMysteriez - I love teasing the chihuahuas as much as they love hounding me!
@Texasjillcarmel - In Oklahoma. We will be near the city, (rt 66) not too far from Edmond. I LOVE your new profile pic!
@atticusfin - hahaha! As wonderful as he is, I am afraid he might protest.
@Richgem - Before I came out of remission, I use the crock-pot to cook dry beans, mostly black beans, white beans, pintos. The Mexican bean pots are just for decor. They so no actual beans.
@armnatmom - Thank you, Kathy! (((hugs))) to you.
@murisopsis - I told the pots I would see them on the other side. We had another neighbor stop by and buy a bunch more stuff, even though we were finished with the sale. Brought the total up to almost $1800!
@Pollypinks - Hoarding, I am glad you are making a stand. Things get a little out of order and my OCD goes into tilt mode. Bonus, I love giving things away!
you’re adorable
I haven’t been around much. Where are you moving? We’re moving to Amarillo, TX this spring. It’s close to Oklahoma. We have grand plans to visit friend in Oklahoma City before the AF moves them further from us.
Ohhhh. Well, I do know those pots look nice on a shelf. My mom has one that I covet. She actually has several from when they were missionaries in Mexico. I just want the one I covet. And I’d probably never put cooked beans in it!
@WildWomanOfTheWest – definitely!
Judy (Sis) and I had a lovely good morning laugh as I read your blog from my daily digest I get via cell phone. It was a wonderful share & just about the same time your sweet message came across as well & simply made my day. Thank you for the laughter shared & the care & concern. You have a heart the size of Texas, my dear & it is truly appreciated. Have a beautiful evening…
thanks Tamy I’m framed! by my sister’s pantry cabinate. lol
@goodwaybadway - ha! Well, thank you.
Get all the rest you need!
@BigToePeople - Amarillo, we’ll practically be neighbors! Once we get the kennel all set up, you will have to come out for a visit when you head to OKC. We will be right off rt 66 in Luther. I look forward to meeting your whole family!
@Richgem - I tried to find a pic for you, but this is best I could find.
@MzSilver - What a surprise! So good to hear from you after your surgery. Been missing you.
@Texasjillcarmel -
@WildWomanOfTheWest - That’s a great collection!!! I hope that you will soon see the day when you can fill one with your beans!
glad to know you accomplished many things to get ready for the move. thumbs up for your meteorology man for being supportive.
@WildWomanOfTheWest - OHMYGOSH, I just mapquested it. It’s barely over 4 hours. We’ll practically be in each others’ hair! And I said that the AF moved us nowhere near loved ones!
