Yes, He Is Indeed Barefooted
Oklahoma
where the wind comes sweeping down the plain. And the lizards head to Mexico to get away from the heat.
And the horses head for the ponds.I LOVE the intense heat.
Honestly, I can’t get enough of it.
I tend to faint in intense heat, but that doesn’t stop me.
My body, my bones crave it.
When I do have to come back into the house,
the air-conditioning feels like ice to my skin.If you can’t find me, just look for the puddle of melted Wild Woman on the lounge chair in the driveway.
Life is good.
Are you a lover of summer?

Nope nope nope, a thousand times nope. Give me autumn or give me death.
i never appreciated summer until i moved so far north. now i love it.–karen
Not at all, nope.
it’s getting hotter,too.
Hell no!
Awww sweet summertime ~ where the livin’ is easy!!
I *do* love summer!! It makes the six months of winter we have to deal with worthwhile
Well, tolerable, at any rate.
Barefoot riding…I won’t lecture. :)
I am from the tropics and summer runs in my veins. I cannot tolerate winters. Give me summer day and night, and I will be a happy camper.
I am not comfortable when it gets above 80 degrees or below about 45 degrees. Autumn is my favorite season for the temperature, the color and the quality of light.
I prefer summer to winter — but today I was in temps ranging from 70 to 95 — I have a bit of a problem with such extremes!
I’m so glad you are enjoying summer! I love the sun on my face…I love summer sunsets and sunrises…I love drinking cold tea on the porch…I love the frog and toads that sing to me…I love all the bunnies and birds and insects and MOST of the reptiles…I love summer family and friend visits…and so much more!

I love many things about each different season!
Wow…you all are having some hot temps already!!!
What you said about the lizards gave me a snort!!!
HUGS!!!
Dear Tamy,
Holy Moly. Our heat waves haven’t started yet. Usually July marks the beginning. Of course, I live near a pretty large body of water, and California is a bit larger than Oklahoma, so I’ve never seen 100 plus temps all over our fair state. I’d have to say I sure hope the ponds don’t dry up. Keep safe, and don’t melt.Michael F. Nyiri, poet, philosopher, fool
And the redbird sings…o.k…..I won’t finish the rest, it’s kinda depressing, but one day I’m going to stop at the Roger Miller Museum in Eric… in the sweltering heat and Love every minute of it! …. I always liked riding bareback and barefooted, of course that was back in the day when I could get up on a horse without stirrups or a boost, I don’t really like anyone pushin on my butt anymore and the grass burrs hurt more than they use to.
i’ll be the puddle right next to yours!!!
i LOVE it!!!
I prefer the cold to the heat.
I am a lover of summer. Can I request the un-stuffy heat? My apartment is like an oven with all the heat risen up to our floor and only a few windows that open. Give me 80s with a warm breeze and I’m a happy camper. Maybe I’d faint if I was in OK right now. I don’t know.
I love summer…………..as long as I have a cool pool to hang out in! Or ac in the house……..and in the vehicle! I can’t do heat! Had a heat stroke when I was a kid. I do love the warm sun though. Just have to do it in spurts!
Awww Tamy, I seen your footprints on my page… you didn’t want to claim ‘Okay?’(OK) for me? the okay corral?
That is some serious heat! I saw on the news yesterday that Phoenix had a high of 119!
I love summer but once it gets over 90 and HIGH humidity, I don’t like it anymore. We set our AC on 78 and the ceiling fans on low, so that temp feels good when it’s super hot. What is your AC set at?
This week we have rain and temps in the high 70s, so no AC but I wanted to get outside, since we are both on vacation this week.
@JstNotherDay - Not me. I’ve not been visiting on xanga for a few days. My ghost boot prints must STILL be appearing all over the place.
I had forgotten about that!
@martna1 - I would prefer to keep it at 80, but my Hunky would melt. So, we compromise at 78/77. Some nights, I have to turn on my electric blanket bcs I swear the air-conditioning is going to give me hypothermia.
@WildWomanOfTheWest - Oooo, ghost prints. I wondered why you hadn’t commented.
