In Case I Ever Run Out Of Eggs
You know that hazy,
not quite awake time in the morning, just before light,
and your mind starts to wander through the things you will do this glorious day. This morning I was thinking I would take photos of the chickens,
as they free-range in the pasture.Except, we don’t have chickens.
Instead, you get this.
One paint gelding, rolling and running in the pasture.
I know, it’s not the same as chickens,
but it will have to do until I figure out how to photograph the cackling hens in my hazy mind.

Wow! Do you keep them as pets or are they rescues? I have only been on a horse once and that was in a riding circle.
Awww, roly pony! I lubs.
Also, I found this on Freshly Pressed. http://thelifeofkylie.com/2013/06/24/oklahoma/
@martna1 - We only have two horses now. We gave the miniature horse herd to our farrier. They are not rescues. They are for riding, even though I am not really able to ride right now, my youngest son rides them. But mostly, I just snuggle with them.
@chronic_masticator - Dust Bowl stories, they hit my soul at its deepest. Thank you.
Beautiful photos! I think paints are probably the prettiest horses ever.
P.S. You wanted more than one egg-pooping chicken? I’ll see what I can do.
oh wow! what a handsome specimen!
Well, isn’t HE a good-lookin’ guy??? <3
LOVE these pics. Who needs chickens with this guy in your yard?
I think he beats a chicken any day
Hehe! I was hoping you really had chickens! But I’ll take a paint pony without complaint! Nice photos!
That is the most beautiful sight these old eyes have seen in a long time. I love horses and so wish I could be near some. There is an honesty to them and a sensitivity that, it would seem, even a lot of humans lack. I love love LOVE horses! You made my day. Thanks for sharing the pics!
The 2nd and 3rd pictures are my fave. Hooves in the air at odd angles. haha. I totally thought you got chickens and forgot to tell me. Just the ones in your head….I mean really.
That is so adorable. I miss being around horses. Sorry I haven’t been as active with commenting and stuff lately. *hugs*
I have never rode a horse before! I have always wanted to! This is very interesting!
roly poly. now i guess i can quit bitching about driving all the way out to the barn today to groom the paint gelding.
