  • Shut Up Isn’t a Nice Thing, But Sometimes It Works

    The sun is shining.
    Such a glorious thing.
Never take glorious things for granted.

Meteorology Man skipped church to run his yard sale again today.
I always knew there was a bit of heathen in him.
    He made almost $500 yesterday.
He likes the conversation more than the financial gain.

In reality, he did not gain anything.
I ordered three of these yesterday for our move since there is no dog fencing.
They will later be used for the kennel.

Our visiting bovine eventually wandered off down the road.
Through process of elimination and word of mouth,
we eventually discovered who they belonged to.
We left a note on the rancher’s locked up gate, but for whatever reason,
he never called or come to get them.  Hopefully, they found their way home.

The appraiser for the guest home showed up during the yard sale.
    Of course, he did.

We were using the guest home for the sale, the bigger barn items outside.
The appraiser bought some things. ha!
He also thought the buyers were getting a good deal,
so hopefully this means his appraisal will turn out favorably for their loan.

One customer told us to let him know
if the deal fell through on our the guest house,
his sister just received an inheritance from their mother
and she could pay cash for it.
He then complained all his momma left him was the house and a bunch of debt.

I’m thinking I would just tell my kids I had already sold off the fine jewelry
and donated it to the foundation for neurotic chihuahuas.
Thankfully, our kids won’t have to worry about such things,
considering the only fine jewels I ever owned belonged to the neutered canine.

    Enjoy your Super Bowl Sunday.
I do not even know who is playing.

So tell me, you mangy varmints, what snacks will you be consuming during the game?

@chronic_masticator I remembered you asking me about my current food intake, but I don’t remember what post, so I will just answer you here.  I am taking in more than liquid now.  Still very small amounts of food, but taking in enough to gain some physical strength.  I can now clean out the dishwasher without fainting.  haha!  I’ve even been able to eat a couple of burritos. Not in one sitting, of course.  Usually about 5-7 bites of food at a time, which isn’t too far off from my norm.  Oh, and I savored an oatmeal raisin cookie from Panera bread the other day.  Lasted me for three days. It was glorious.

  • I bet that is some garage sale! Hope he can earn enough that with the kennel purchase you break even! Also good to hear that you are feeling stronger.

  • I know I’m not around much, but whenever I check in, I’m always sending you love.  I admire you so much. ((((hugs))))

  • Hope your appraisal goes well!  Ours went mostly ok, but then the loan department did what they wanted anyway, and gave just *just enough* to make things work.

    Love love love that video!!!

What is this foooozeball game you speak of?  Hummm, well for snacks today we have chips and salsa and cheese dip. Oh, and we’re going strawberry pickin!  So I guess strawberries! Only game going on here is taking turns at the zip line at the strawberry field! Wheeeeeeeeeeee!

  • Did a post about the super bowl food if you have time and or are feeling up to the walk. Sure wish I could’ve come to your yard sale. Husband would be glad I didn’t go. I have a tendency to buy what I want…

  • So you can eat cookies?  Good, good.  Let me know when you’re ready for me to send that goodie box.

  • Happy that bellowing fella went on hom eo the farm where he lives.  Loved the video and my boys used ot ask em that too and I would tell them they need to be quiet and appreciate tme while I am alive, as I can not co-sign for them or loan them money when I am dead.   They never said another word<:)
I have home made chicken tenders and home made snack meat balls ready, along with some light cheese snack dip and chips.   They can have sandwishes or snack<:)  A couple of TDs caregivers will be here and TD just got a new 42 inch screen tv<:)
    Enjoy the superbowl and hugs.

  • Making Homemade baked beans with wings, celery sticks, and chips. :) That is a funny video.

  • JalapeƱo peppers stuff with cream cheese minced garlic and wrapped in bacon. (I know you’re probably gagging, I’m sorry). I was going to make t-bone steaks but it appeared I was the only one who wanted one so they went into the freezer instead. Don’t really care about football, might not even watch it. But it’s fun to pretend. Hope you keep improving in the health department and that your move goes well.

  • Not watching the game… One benefit of not having a man.   I will be watching Downton Abbey.
    49′s against Baltimore(eagles?)
    If I were watching, I’ve always liked the 49′s.  I don’t know a thing about the Baltimore(eagles?)

[edit: just looked it up, it's not the eagles, it's the ravens... bird of a very different feather I'd say. ]

  • @JstNotherDay - Well, I have a man, but no tv channels.   So, no game here either!  It will be a Honeymooners’ night.  I could watch Ralph Kramden without the sound even.

  • glad you are able to eat something now a days.  My husband is watching the game somewhere else.  I’m home with the computer and fish sticks!

  • Praying that the house sells quickly and you’re able to eat more. It sounds like you guys are getting things ready for the big move! Wish I could say we were doing the same. I’ve just about given up on moving again. I guess it’s all in God’s Hands and He hasn’t thumped hubby over the head yet, so we’re just waiting. (did I mention I hate waiting???)

  • I’ve used it myself.

  • We made homemade pizzas. Glad to hear you are doing better. Have you ever read anything on activated charcoal? My friend says it really helps her. She also said eating a tablespoon of coconut in the morning and night helps. I don’t know how but thought I’d read up on it.

  • That cow is so very cute. I, too hope the guest house appraisal comes in at a nice number for all concerned! Snacks for today? Well, since it was just me and hubby and we 95 percent avoided the big game, my “snacks” were 2 chicken thighs and about 12 Hershey kisses and lots of water with lime squirted in it. Hubby mad himself a couple of soft tacos. I dread my workout in the morning…I was so lazy today.

  • Isn’t it interesting we think of our kids as we age, and what we’ll have to leave them with, or without?  Should Jim pass first, I really don’t want another mate, because that would be baggage with his kids, and I only have a pittance to leave my own children, in the form of my house.  When I get a little older, I’ll sign it over to them, so that the state can’t put a lien on it should I have to go into a nursing home, or, Medicare won’t pay for a long run in Intensive Care.  And I hate when conservatives talk about those of us on Medicare and disability like we are swine, never taking into account we worked our asses off for decades, putting into the system, and anyway, why should we treat our own the way we don’t want to be treated?  Why pay trillions to start wars, when, our children and others can get healthcare?  My dear friend has a lien on her house for when she dies, due to three days in Intensive Care she didn’t have cash for, and couldn’t afford insurance for.  I’m glad for your yard sale, and that things are moving right along.  I think you’ll be happier once the move has happened, you’ve decorated, and the dust has settled.  I’m glad you love your home state, and can get acreage out of this.  Much love and peace to you and all of yours.  Hang on, it will get better.

  • I think it’s hilarious that the appraiser bought something from the garage sale. Love it.

Wishing you guys good thoughts and success in this endeavor!!

  •          Wow! In this economy I am surprised somebody didn’t just load him up and take him to the butcher! I do hope the owner got him back home safely.

Like that video! I don’t know why family members have to be like vultures over what they will get when somebody dies.

Glad to hear you are doing better and that the yard sale went well.

We don’t do the football thing so no snacks.

  • i like that pic.  seems to peaceful there.

  • While trying to delete my old email address I came across some messages from Xanga. I had to click on one and see what all my old Xanga friends were up to….I came here first.

I really miss everyone on Xanga but with 8 kids, a grandbaby, full time photography business, a new non profit organization, house remodel so we can put it on the market and start building, oh and of course my husband.  I seem to only find time to use facebook. Sad I know.

  • Glad to hear you’re eating a bit more. I never eat much myself. My guts don’t like me in winter. It’s not terrible, but I do go 2-3 days without food pretty often.
Your beautiful life continually inspires me. We call our faiths by different names, but the bones beneath are the same.
I keep getting little hints from The Universe/God/Whatever that fostering may be in my future. It has always been a whisper in my heart… I hope I’m not too old when I’m in better circumstances to try it.
