  • Some Men Are Gonna Do Some Drinking

Meteorology Man is out grocery shopping, so I will sneak in a quick update. You know he keeps me in the closet during the day.  I make too much noise and always choose to let loose a war cry when he is in the middle of a conference call.

I just broke up a dog fight. The two littlest ones go at each other like two rabid wolverines.  Josey is giving me a talking to from her sleep crate. I put everyone to bed early. and she is less than pleased.  Sometimes I feel like I have a bunch of toddlers running my house.

We might have a buyer for the guest house.  Young family setting it up for the mother on their land.  This makes my heart warm to know they are taking care of her.  Grandma will be close.

The buyers of our ranch are coming out tomorrow morning to take measurements around the house. He is a professional landscaper and has plans for decking.  I may have to drive by later to see how pretty it looks.  I am so excited for them!  Dreaming and making plans, this place is good for such things.

Tomorrow afternoon, the movers come out to check out our load and give us an estimate. They will need to load it, store it for three weeks and then move it again.  I’m a little nervous for the total.  In our favor, we have very little furniture since we are leaving most of it here.

    Josey is still bossing me.

I found a place to board the dogs for three weeks.  That is such a big relief.  I had a bit of a meltdown yesterday when the one I had picked out couldn’t do it because they were going on vacation during that time.  But, I pulled on my big girl britches and got r done.  I’ve asked Macy to take care of Josey during that time, since she’s really too fragile for the kennel.  Yes, the one mercilessly harassing me.  Fragile. ha!

The packing boxes and materials have been ordered. Got them from Lowes, much cheaper than the rental truck places.  Free shipping makes me happy, too.  No gas.  No trip to the city.  No socializing with the peoples.

We are booking our hotel tonight.  Three weeks in a hotel room.  Can I borrow someone’s hamster wheel?

Time to heat up the electric blanket and snuggle in with a Honeymooners flick.
Love me some Ralph and Ed.

  • Haven’t you done this hotel bit before?  My prayers will be with you.  Hope it all goes well.

  • Sounds like you could use another box of goodies.  What’s your diet looking like these days so I know what not to send?

  • Don’t you just love it when a plan comes together and it does sound like it is.  Hmmm… how about a small trampoline. I used to have one & used it all the time just to give me something to do. Mostly running/bouncing in place. Good for the legs & to release stress.  Keeping family & furkids in prayers that all will go as smoothly as possible with what is taking place.  Gentle, but loving hugs by the dozen, little lady.

  • It sounds as if your plans are all coming together pretty well now! You really impress me with your capacity to make it all work like clockwork! If you need last-minute boxes, WalMart also sells them (cheap) — had to go that route when I suddenly needed a few more for the kitchen stuff last year!  Glad to know that Lowe’s has them too!  I’m so glad you’ll keep the dogs — hope they will all adapt to the new place — will you need to move them in one or two at a time?

  • This time, don’t forget to buy the good toilet paper for your extended stay at the hotel! When husband and I moved from the apt to our home, we basically moved two medium sized places; stuff accumualteed from after I moved into the apt with him, then I actually had an entire house to move from where I use to live and was still paying rent on after I moved in with him. We decided to hire movers so it could be done all in one day. That, and we’re just not spring chickens anymore.

  • Anytime MM wants to come do my grocery shopping, he’s welcome. I’ll even feed him something. I’ve been gone ALL DAY and a big chunk of it was spent grocery shopping. Of course the last two hours were spent doing tai chi and taking a chili tasting tour of downtown businesses (with a vanload of groceries parked a few blocks away) so it wasn’t all bad.

  • Your husband does the grocery shopping? How lucky can you get! I read your previous blog also and am happy that you are not going to be homeless. The picture of the living room looks very comfortable and has peace written all over it.

  • This time, this is the good one . You leave your ranch but in good conditions . A new life is waiting for you in that wonderful house . You will be well there .

What solution for the horses ?

    Love

    Michel

  • You are doing great and things are going smoothly and you will be in your new digs before you know it.

  • WOW!  Things are coming together. I’m so happy for all of you.  This is a grand adventure!   Congratulations.

  • be safe and well in all your activities over the next several weeks.

  • We moved 20 times in 40 years.  I loved staying in hotel rooms with my wife while grandma took care of the kids. Hotel rooms seem so much more illicit than motel rooms. Also, the company paid for the move, hotel, and eating out. My wife loved eating out. I loved the hotel room.

  • we have trouble with one of our dogs getting in fights with the other one and we have to pen her up-the Aussie.

the hotel /motel will be nice and less to keep clean.

  • You are so organized. About ready to go. Good luck with your 3 wks in a hotel room. Hope it goes well. One step closer to new beginnings in your new home.

  • I do have a hamster wheel. Where should I send it? Best to you. Word of the week: “ONWARD!”  Big hugs!

  • It’s a wonderful day in the neighborhood, a wonderful day for a neighbor…would you be mine? Could you be mine? LOLOL. Just sent a friend/subscription invite. Anyway. Love this post….and hope the estimate is LOOOOWWWWWWW. I couldn’t imagine packing up all the junk…I mean, treasures, here and moving it all somewhere else. I think I’d open the front door and just tell people to pay what they want and let it all go. Then start over when I got to paradise. Hope you are doing well today. God bless!!

  • Wow!  Hope the doggies get calmed down before time for the boardings.  Hope you have good weather for the move.  Are you going to take before and after pictures?

  • Praying for peace and for the move to go smoothly. I hope you’re taking care of yourself while trying to dog wrangle! Blessings, sweet lady!

  • You dear girl, I hope this continued adventure goes very well for all of you. I’ll pray that you have the fortitude to thoroughly clean the hotel room so that you can feel almost home there. ( :

  • Looking so forward to your blogs in your new house.  Wow,  what an adventure for ya’ll these past couple of years.  I’d love to move into a place like that but I’m stuck here so may as well grin and bear it!!

  • best of luck on your adventure..

  • Tamy, I came by just to see you and to thank you for that beautiful Christmas card! Yes, I have been away from xanga far too long! Seems like a lot has been happening for you. Sounds like new adventures are on the horizon for you and MM! Please take care of yourself, I know that you push harder than most.

Thank you again for thinking of me at Christmas, the card was very special! ~Candy
