number...
oh h e double toothpicks, I have forgotten what number this is,
but she is on her way home.
She looks as though she could be Pecos Bill's little sister.
The rescue called her Tiny, but of course we will need to remedy that with a proper Watering Hole Ranch name.
Let me hear your best wild west names!
(edit) You all have come up with some fun names, well and some of them are a bit greenhornish. But, that's why I love you. Anyway, when
@chronic_masticator offered Coyote Gypsy, I was completely smitten. And when our new little varmint started howling with a quirk, that was confirmation enough for me. Coyote it is. Our family dog of 16 years was named Gypsy, so we will just call her Coyote. Thanks Amanda!
Just a reminder on the names of the rest of the pack.
Boomer Swooner, airdale
Bella Starr, hound/pit mix
Cactus Jack, chihuahua mix
Pecos Bill, chihuahua/rat terrier mix
Sadie, border terrier
Josey, yorkie/chihuahua mix
Yosemite Sami, yorkie/chihuahua mix
Annie Oakley, cairn terrier
Calamity Jane, cairn terrier
and now, Coyote, jack russell/rat terrier mix
Coyote's personality is sweet, light, bouncy. She's attentive, considering she is somewhere new. Right now, she is getting to know Jack, Josey and Sami. Cactus Jack is always the first to be introduced to the latest addition. He's the Big Enchilada around here, and for good reason. He has a very balanced spirit with the pack. With new peoples, not so much.
Thank you for all the ideas, but most of all, thank you for not reminding me I am the crazy dog lady. I hear that if you give it a name and have a business card, they don't send you to the insane asylum. Since the name of our little town means Barking Waters, I hereby crown thee, Barking Waters Dog Refuge.
Now to order those business cards before the men with white jackets arrive.

Princess? (No. No dog that breed should be named that.)
Hm... Diva? (Depends on her 'tude.)
Some favorite kick-ass female character in a TV show / book?
Again... depends on how she responds to life. Why not wait and see what would fit?
Dolly Pawton or Pecos Belle, maybe?
Jane for Calamity Jane.
Dale Evans
"Annie" Annie Oakley
Pepper
Pimento
Chipotle
She is a real cutie.
Godiva. as in Lady Godiva. : ) she's beautiful.
Or Miss Lily. As in Miss Lily Langtry.
@Passionflwr86 - LOL... I was thinking of the name "Precious"... But I guess not!
@betheelou - Love your Calamity Jane name..
She's adorable and oh so sweet looking.
The only wild west name I could come up with, especially since the others came up with great names, is...........
Turquoise
I vote for Princess
I'm a book nerd and all my dogs have names from books.......or shall I say one book in particular. Scout is a mighty fine name!
LuLuBelle...and there you have your double toothpicks. She's a doll!
How about Bella or Ginger? Or may be Angelina! Look at me giving you this suggestion. I don't even own a dog. I am sure you will find a good name soon.
Definitely Miss Kitty. She surely could run the Long Branch Saloon - just look at her outfit!
@murisopsis - Ha! I was going to suggest Miss Kitty because it would be so funny to call her. "Here, Kitty!" Great minds...
Call her Cattle Kate!

Calamity Jane or Belle (or I second the nomination for LuLuBelle. LOL!)
Hang Tail
MonsterClydeRattlerCow PattyWhistlerI like Ruthie. Have reserved that name in my head, if my Tucker (Bichon) ever gets a sister. I also like the verse- from the book of Ruth- that says in part, "-where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay; your people will be my people..."
Other names I like are Lydia... or Honeysuckle Rose, but I don't know how they fit with the Watering Hole Ranch vibe.
Glad you are feeling better! Enjoy the season, and your new fur kid!
Melinda
I like the name Alice and have no idea why-Hmm maybe Lil Bit.
I'm all for Calamity Jane! Or you could call her Chiquita! So cute!
:) yay... however COYOTE? I'm far more in favor of a "clementine."
Oh she is adorable. My daughter wore similar accessories to school today, lol.
Hehe! She is a very pretty coyote. Not a trace of coyote ugly to be found!
