  • THIS is Oklahoma

Josey just stretched and released a sweet canine yawn while snoozing in one of the bedroom recliners.  These chairs were suppose to be for me and my Hunky, but the dogs have taken them over.  As it should be.

Meteorology Man is gone again today.  He is working with Victory Disaster Relief in Moore with more clean-up work.  He thanked me for having his work clothes already washed and ready to go.  It’s a simple thing.

He finally got his offer package for his new job yesterday.  Right when we are trying to find the drop-off location for the Snuggle Drive.  He had people calling him non-stop requesting information.  We had to pull over three times.  I finally asked him (read demanded) that he ignore all their pleas for more paperwork until after we had delivered the Snugglies.

We tried a new restaurant while we were in Edmond.  Ted’s.  The salsa was fresh, with the perfect hint of cilantro.  The hot stuff nearly closed my Hunky’s throat.  He seriously couldn’t breath.  It really should come with a warning label.  And because I am the compassionate wife, I made dieing from salsa jokes for the rest of the day.

I ran to the store this morning to pick up more dog food.  We will be delivering it to Absentee Shawnee Tribe Community Center for the Shawnee tornado victims.  We will also offer our three dog kennel runs.  And because we are closer, we can offer our ranch for lost horses.   We think we can swing a few dogs as well, if need be.  I have three open dog pens.  I will just need to pick up some more dog houses.

Well, Miss Joesy has fully awakened from her sweet canine slumber, and is bossing me with her growls and grit.  She is ready to rumble and carouse the out of doors.

I listened to this song this morning.  Her spirit really shines through.
    THIS is Oklahoma.

  • I have to side with MM on the salsa issue.  Even the mild stuff kills me.

  • You and my husband would get along great eating the hottest food around. But when it comes to cilantro, you would be on your own. It’s great to hear all the wonderful stuff going on to help others in need. Especially help for our 4 legged loved ones. You truly rock Tamy! ♥♥♥♥

  • One of the reasons I like hot salsa is that my sinuses are 90% blocked most of the time and it helps open them up.

Yay for MM’s new job offer!

Looking after stranded dogs… yeah, I can sort of picture you doing that. Maybe. A little.

  • @chronic_masticator - @armnatmom - I am a wimp, I only eat the mild stuff.  But, MM ran out and used the hot stuff to mix in with his cheese sauce.  I felt so bad for him, once I stopped laughing and realized he really couldn’t breath.

@Roadkill_Spatula - haha!  It’s a stretch, but it might be something I’d do.

  • Thanks for sharing this! Americans pitch in when disaster strikes! That’s what makes us so different!

  • wow! empty kennels! I bet that’s rare. Hurray for you & MM for being such great voluteers!

  • I can still deal mightily with hot spices- at least to the Habanero level.  ”With the heart of a lion”-  that is the spirit of our age, running TOWARDS those in need.  Oklahoma is stepping up just fine.

  • we like Hell on the Red hot sauce.

that is kind of you to give your time and money to help the people’s animals in the tornado.

  • I’m so glad you’re taking in horses and dogs. It’s great when you can do something that comes so naturally for you and means so much to others.

  • Thank you, to you and your wonderful family, for all the work you are doing to help your beloved Oklahoma and Oklahomans AND the precious animals!
That girl’s song and voice is Oklahoma strong and so beautiful! It brought tears to my eyes!
What you said/did to your Hunky Man about “dieing from salsa” has me snort-laughing!
We love Mexican food…cooking it and eating it…even make some homemade salsa.
With my luck I’ll “go out” courtesy of beans!!! I eat a lot of beans! I can hear it now…”She died after eating a huge bowl of pintos and we could hear and smell her go!”
    HUGS!!!

  • Her sweet voice says it all and thank goodness you are able to foster some horses and dogs until their owners are able to get back on their feet.

We walk the path we walk, and survive what we survive, to get the point where we are at today for the very reason you are able to do what you are doing today.
    Sending prayers to all.

  • Bella. if you think Kyle`s comment is surprising… last week I got Mitsubishi Evo after having earned $4052 this-last/month and-a little over, ten k last munth. it’s certainly the best job Ive ever done. I began this 3 months ago and pretty much immediately was making at least $74.. per hour. I went to this website,, http://www.rev24.com

  • Glad you husband survived the “hot”-some people just can’t tolerate it.  Sounds like you are doing so much better these days, I’m so glad.
